This one secret helped me drink a green smoothie more than ever before!
I can’t remember where I heard this phrase but as the saying goes “what you eat today will affect you tomorrow.”  I didn’t realize how true this was until this past Sunday.  I was feeling really good and had woken up early with the puppin.  I did my grocery shopping the day before so I was excited when I realized I had everything I needed to make a great green smoothie.  And I mean really great, cause I had spirulina which is super green, so duh, it was going to be a really healthy smoothie.  
I whipped it up and well, maybe too much spirulina cause it was more black then green but oh so healthy, I’m sure of it.  So I drank it and went on with my day.  I kept checking back into my body throughout the day thinking “Hmmm, I don’t seem to be reaping the benefits of that green smoothie???”  Slightly irritated I went on.
The next day, Monday, before heading to work I arose with the puppin around 6:30am.  She had attempted to get me up earlier around 5:15am which I actually considered.  This is so not like me at all.  As I flew out of bed and down the stairs to let her outside I felt wide awake.  Surprised, I thought well shoot, I must have slept really well last night even though I went to bed a little late.

Then I proceeded to pack a healthy breakfast, lunch and snacks to take to work with me.  I did stop for Starbucks (can you blame me?) but skipped the breakfast sandwich because I had a banana and yogurt in my bag. I got to work and began my day.  I told myself I would try to eat every 2 hours.

Guess what happened, unlike every other day when I set good intentions and then break them…. this day, I didn’t break a single one of them…  I did everything just the way I wanted to.  My point being, I think that green smoothie kicked in TODAY.  I feel great and because I feel great, I don’t feel like I need other things (like donuts!) to make me feel good.  It’s much easier to eat healthy when you’re already happy rather than trying to force a smile while munching on carrots.

I’m thinking I’ll see this affect in other areas of my life also.  I cleaned up my desk last night too and switched purses.  I can’t wait to get home and create some more lovely content for ya’ll.
Turns out the green smoothie of yesterday is the healthy habit of today.
